The Day of the Lord

5 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. ² For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. In 1967 the Jews recaptured Jerusalem from the Arabs after the Six Day War. That is a thorny issue for Muslims everywhere. The heart of the Jerusalem is "Whose God is God?" If it is Allah then the Jews must be crushed or Islam is false. For Israel it is very existence and for her faithful it is home.

Arafat is an Egyptian not a Palestinian became the poster child for the myth of the Palestinian plight. Known better as the godfather of the modern terrorism movement by murdering Israel athletes, civilians, and many, many more of his own people to stay in power. So why do they make peace deals with Israel. Land for peace. Or treaties to by time while they stockpile weapons for the next assault. Arafat's Johannesburg Speech

Below are excerpts from a speech given by PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat on May 10, 1994, in a mosque in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Model is Cast

Jesus spoke these sobering words to the Jewish leadership that was rejecting Him as Messiah.

⁴¹ "I do not receive honor from men. ⁴² But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. ⁴³ I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. John 5:41-43

The Mahdi as we know is to come in the name of his own family. A descendant of the prophet Mohammad according to Muslim traditions found in the Hadiths. Another interesting note that comes to mind is when Jesus ministry began with John the Baptist. The Jews where asking, "Are you Elijah?" Elijah called down fire in the sight of men in a contest of the true God. 1 Kings 18:20-40

We also know that the part of the end time deception that I believe Jesus alluded to above will be that the false prophet will call down fire from heaven in the sight of men.

The Beast from the Earth

¹¹ Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. ¹⁴ And he deceives those who dwell on the earth- by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. Consider the vision that King Nebuchadnezzar saw that the prophet Daniel interpreted for the king. I like many prophecy students have been looking to the revived Roman Empire for the possible Antichrist. We know historically that Rome divided into two representing the two legs of Iron. We know that it is in the days of these kings being the feet of clay and Iron. The idea behind all of the Islamic Mahdi studies is that the image has a right and left leg. An East and West part of the empire. That eastern leg outlived the western-Europe leg by hundreds of years. I am not going to be so dogmatic that the Mahdi is the coming antichrist. I am looking at both legs! I however find some eerie parallels in the bible rendering and the Islamic expectations.

I even read on Sheik in Turkey where Hitler's Mein Kampf is a best seller today...Can you say last piece to the battle of Gog and Magog. Sheikh Nazim's comments on Armageddon are sobering. The Grand sheik was commenting on the events surrounding the appearing of the Mahdi. He said and I quote:

"It is impossible for believers (Muslim) to be killed during Armageddon or for people with good actions and good intentions to be killed. That is impossible. But those (Infidels) who harm humanity and have enemies and are denying the Creator (Allah), they must be killed. That is their punishment." Grand Sheik Nazim
